To briefly sum up, the differences between the two English versions are:

•Hawkes used many more words than Yang;

•Yang used a wider range of vocabulary than Hawkes;

•Hawkes used longer sentences than Yang.

TTR and sentence length constitute far from a complete description of the translation styles of the two English translations. In the present study, we focus on these two factors because they are what the corpus tool can provide us with at this moment. A more comprehensive description of the translation styles will entail a project combining a corpus approach with other tools and methods of textual analysis.
